OBJECT AS ARTIFACT
Preservations of time, excess, play, eating, being
Clay reliquaries as an ode to ancient Grecian vessels which led me to Greece, which led me to this surreal abandoned village in Crete where I spent weeks ruminating, sculpting, and wandering amongst ruins and clay. These pieces arose from daydreams about my version of an archeological happenstance of newfound artifacts, sacred vessels to lavish in the mundanity of life. A pythagorean cup, object for play, candelabra, sundial, and vessel for eating or drinking.
